Tuesday, April 8, 2025 — In a bid to strengthen legislative capacity across Africa, Prof. Charles Amoatey, Director of Development Impact West Africa (DIWA), and Richard Kingsford Otoo, DIWA’s Research Manager, met earlier today with Dr. Nadege Firsova, Academic Director for the Administration and Governance Domain at McGill University, and Dr. Rasheed Draman, Executive Director of the African Centre for Parliamentary Affairs (ACEPA).

The discussions centred on a potential collaboration to co-design and implement tailored training programmes on parliamentary leadership and evidence-informed policymaking. The goal is to build the capacity of parliamentarians and parliamentary staff across the continent, equipping them with the tools to make more effective, data-driven policy decisions.

The initiative reflects a shared commitment to strengthening institutional frameworks and advancing evidence-based policymaking within African legislatures.
